I am not sure if this will help.

Here is a link to the National Do Not Call Registry

We signed up the other day. The marketers have 30 days to update their lists. So you could still rec' calls for up to 30 days after you sign up.

Its really too bad there are so many exceptions to this as the only calls I get are from all the ones that can legally call me at all hours of the day (charities, various credit cards etc). I'm sick of repeatedly asking them to either stop calling or put me on their do not call lists.

Still at least its something

Thanks for the link! I have been meaning to get that done; although I think most of the calls we get at our house are those scams from the States that are not actually regulated by the CRTC. It's very annoying to pick up the phone to a prerecorded "Congratulations!, you've won..." - you can't even get through to someone to get them to remove you from the list. But as Christy said, it's something, which is better than nothing!

Now if only we could have a global "do not spam" registry!

I agree. All the ones that contact me will still be able to. The ones that won't be able to are already breaking the law - the numbers show up as 000-000-0000 or 123-456-7890. I'm sure they won't care too much about a DNC list. But yup... it's a start.
