I don't have any equipment (or any single item, for that matter), not have I even paid the entry fee! But, I suppose I should start a thread of my own....so here goes.

More to come!

Picked up the 10G AGA at Pisces today....only $16.99. Not bad! Also picked up a JBJ K-2 Viper 150W HQI fixture for $170. Not bad?

Oh...also picked up a sweet little zoa colony from Ocean City :D Pics to come!

Everything looks good Drew, minus the oddly lacking BK MINI 180. Come now man, no more slacking.

Hey Drew,

Where did you get the Viper 150w HQI?? I'm looking to get one for my 20g. $170 doesn't sound so bad at all...

LOL. Hmmm, but I wonder....is that what you might call "over-skimming"?

Pisces. I didn't see anymore on the shelf, but I also wasn't looking for anymore. They used to sell them with the JBJ nano cube kits, but I guess they decided to break them apart and sell it all separately. I thought it was a good deal, as I've seen them as high as $299 locally.

Well, yes....it is a contest tank....but it's also a permanent downgrade from my larger tank, so I didn't want to skimp on lighting (waste money when I'll only be buying something better down the road anyway). So yeah. Livestock will be fairly cheap for me. At least for now ;)

Hope this stand doesn't suck. Hah! It says it can carry a 120 lb. load. So yeah. Oh, and yes...I know...I need to vacuum

P.S. Is there anyone out there (in Calgary) who can drill a couple holes for 1/2" bulkheads? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

I can drill the holes... just need the drill bits.. haha.

I am borrowing a 3/4" if you wants to go that size...

As for your stand... I would mostly be worried about the roller wheels giving out before the rest of the stand.

Ran into a bit of a glitch. I siliconed in the corner overflow, and for some reason, miscalculated the height of it. Oops! So, the water literally comes to the VERY top of the aquarium, without spilling. It makes me highly nervous! Would it work to use a diamond-coated dremel bit and cut some slits/slots in the overflow? Like, 1/2" slots? Or would the glass crack? Ideas?

Yes that would work, just make sure to keep the bit cool!

Nice viper! I want!

Hey guys. Sorry...I won't be able to remain in the competition. I spent my whole budget on this damn tank, and....it cracked and broke and caused a huge mess. UGH. What a waste of money. Oh well.

Good luck to the rest who are still competing. If anyone needs another judge with more than 3000+ posts, I'm here :D
