28th Avenue and Calgary trail. Behind fasgas in the stripmall. The signs are up but the windows are all papered in so you cant see in. Must be a top secret operation, cant wait

Last I heard they were shooting for March 1st. I had a tour of the new place, it's going to be a pretty nice store.

The tank you saw on the floor by chance was it in the main lobby? If so that's my tank and not part of the store.. I need to pick it up this week.

Made it out this week - they were great help in giving me tons of tips on my plumbing.

Appreciated all the help for sure!

Great customer service from the entire crew...

I was there today and wasnt too impressed. No lights over the tanks to see the fish and the coral tanks just had the T-5's going with 1 halide over the SPS and BTA. I asked if he could put some light over the tank with the flames any light even a flashlight. I explained I was looking for the flame with the most red. He looked at me like I was stupid and siad "what do you want me to do put the geismans over it?" I said any light will work, then I got the response that stopped me from buying any fish "Well if we sell a few more fish maybe we can afford lights" My girlfriend pipes up with "Well maybe if you had more light over the fish so we could see them we might buy a couple. He just walked away. I was pretty choked he would even get out a flashlight or somthing to put over the tank.

I wont be going back and will keep shopping at AI.

I've been there lots and the staff has been fantastic! I live on the west end and make the drive because of the service, avoiding AI like the plague!

I have been and the service was very good, eager to help and give advice and took time to help a newb with his dumb questions. Store was coming along nicely and will be great given time to come together. Will certainly make the 90 mile drive back in the near future

In an earlier posting it said that the windows were papered over and the poster doubted that they would be open in March- maybe in April. I am assuming from

that it was a joke gone wrong or the likes. I have never been there and do not know much about it. However, usually an owner / operator strives to give good service and somehow I would assume that there are lights on order and he is having to make due with what is there. Opening a store (or any business) never goes exactly as planned or the time line as planned and it almost sound like self depreciating humour to me. What would you like me to do- bring the {non existant} halides over? Ah well, it sounds like at least there is another choice in Edmonton (which from what I hear is very limited when it comes to marine fish.)

I went there a couple weeks ago and i will be honest lights over the tank would be alot better but in time i'm sure they will have them. As far as the customer service goes; I think it was great service. The staff was very helpful with questions that i had. I think it will be a great store once it has a chance to get up and running. I will be back.

And they will! They aren't completely finished setting things up, which is obvious for people who are returning on a regular basis to see more stock, more changes and more progress with the setup.

You're right -- you can't please everyone, and many of those people you can't please you simply don't want as customers.

Yes, I agree, the fish are hard to see without lights -- I do, however, understand the opening of a new store and the slow progress of finishing touches. And I bought from there with no problems whatsoever.

The fact that Joshua came on and addressed your complaint, and apologized for a miscommunication, says a lot to me -- many vendors wouldn't care. He obviously does, since he faced it publicly. Otherwise, he would have ignored it or pretended he didn't see it.

Some people like to whine and complain. There's one in every bunch. Josh is doing a good job, his store will compete with the rest soon.

This won't stop me from checking the store out, It's only one comment. There is very limited stores in Edmonton so the more stores the better. I might take awhile to get there though since it's waaaaaay on the south end.

Well If you can make the trip from Bon Accord noirsphynx I guess I can make the trip from Londonderry Mall! I drive but I usually make my trips to AI because it's half the distance. Perhaps I'll visit the store this weekend. Is anything open on Good Friday?

If they truly were that would have some lighting over the fish tanks. I think they might be just getting started but maybe they need to pay off some debt on some aquariums that maybe should have waited.

Well whatever its the truth you are never going to sell enough product by keeping it in the dark.

There were never any intentions of doing this, as you would know if you've been paying any attention to different threads or talking to the staff that work there. Sure, there's no lights. Right now. They're coming.

It's just like there's no floor in my lizard room.

And my garage is messy.

And I still need to transplant some of my plants.

Things come up that have priority over others. Their fish are healthy and seem happy (as happy as a fish can be?) so if there are other things that have to be done, of course they can only work on one project at a time. Time is short for anyone, and I'd be surprised if they got everything done overnight. If you're so worried about it, just don't shop there. You've said your piece, so as one person put it.... stop whining.

I really dont think its whining, Im not fromm Edmonton but have been spending alot of time up there since my brother lives there. I know that Grand prairie is pretty far away from the city, I guessing that he is more ticked off for driving in to visit the store and finding out that some stuff didnt turn out the way it planned. I would be ****ed too. I know Lando works that and he was telling me tha tJosh has been spending alot of money to get this store up and going and opening up a new store can reek havoc on a people when every one from but the queen comes in when you getting this and this and this how much for this and that. So may be Ryan statingthat you spend $400 on AI is not really what you should of said, statting it at the time you were peeved off but voicing that here will just start another flamed thread here and that is what we do not what to happen. instigating that is just going to start and get this thread going and then the Mods are going to shut it down...

there are other ways of voicing your opinion too, and freedom of speech there is a limit

+1

I mean the Owner comes on here and apologizes and still whining really just stay shopping at AI and stop whining here! Edmonton has been starving for a good fish store for so long a new one opens up admittedly before they were done and this is the reception they get! I guess we get what we ask for!

This is a typical behavior of this particular Ryan specimen. The bad and mightier-than-thou attitude has been historically noted.
