I have about 8 SPS frags/small colonies in my tank right now, and they're all doing really well, with the exception of a pink birdsnest colony. It actually seems to be doing well, coloring up, etc., except the tips are developing a sort of algae on them. The colony does get some fairly high/direct flow from the Vortech. Could this be the cause somehow? Any other ideas?

i bought a birdsnest frag a while ago and the tips wernt doing well at first and algae was growin on them too, all i did was try to scrape it off with my finger nail and as the frag started doin better it stopped happening

I vote for flow. Break the tips off and direct your vortech so that its not direct flow, it should be fine.

i concur, get it out of the direct flow. move the coral or move the vortech

Absolutely the flow. Move it a bit, it will clear itself up with good growth.
