My wife found my clownfish in or near the anemone mouth dead and covered with a pinkish slime coating? I had two clownfish and both were hosting in the anemone with a anemone crab. I've got 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 blue devil, 1 niger trigger, had 2 false percs. Anyone have any idea why he died and what the slime coating is?
Is this going to happen again, should I be looking for a new home for this anemone?

Was this the same clown that a while back someone thought there was velvet on?

Sounds like it just died. An anemone can eat a clownfish, but not after they've "bonded" . If it was already hosting, it died from something else.

It was a green carpet anemone. Hmmm, what about the pink slimecoating? What would that be from?
It was the same that was sick....
If it was that wouldn't I be seeing an outbreak in the tank?

Pink slime coating was probably some kind of mold caused by decay on the dead body. As for "outbreak"....not necessarily if the other fish are healthy enough they can fight off disease. The old/weak get killed.
