so im working on a 29 gallon reef with a 20 gallon sump, and ive heard you can put something called a dorso on your intake line to make it alot more quiet, but im not sure what this dorso thing is. anybody know?

can u make a dorso for a HOB overflow box, because i ehard you could. the reason im asking is because its going to be in my room so i want it as quiet as possible

Yes you can, you just need to shorten it. Also you may want to look into a stockman standpipe. They work better for smaller spaces.

You'll find a "Herbie" to be the most quiet. Simple other than you need two drain holes and a valve.

HGB Standpipe (http://home.everestkc.net/jrobertson57268/HGB/) for smaller overflows, I find these to work best for most applications. I usually bump up the sizes to 1.25" pipe and 2" Coupling.

i really like that HGB. are they hard to adjust just right?
