I am having a terrible time trying to control, or better yet find a way to control, a micro bubble problem.

I have no leaks in my return line. and my sump design is almost a carbon copy of a fellow member who doesn't have any problems. The problem is so bad, that the tank looks almost cloudy because of the abundance of bubbles. I tried adding a strip of filter floss between the baffles, between the skimmer and return pump. That didn't work. I tried shutting off the line that runs to my fuge, that didn't work either.

Any suggestions??

Cheers
Josh

Tried slowing down the return pump? I have to throttle my return down to lessen the microbubbles. Occasionaly I'll get a Burp of bubbles and will cloud the tank. Its worse if the flow is more.

Filter sock on drain from the tank to the sump, unless you think it's your skimmer?

my guess is a pin hole in your plumbing adjacent to your return pump. I had the same issues and noticed that micro bubble were only found in the vinyl tubing after coming through the return pump.
