Found this tonight after moving my LR to my new tank.. Is this apitasia? I have never seen apitasia with such bulky stalks... Thanks!

I am pretty sure that it is not Aiptasia. I have had more than my share of Aiptasia since I started in this hoppy and none of it looked like that.

It is a sponge:)

Here is what melevs site says about it:

This is a harmless Scypha sponge. They are very small, and usually found in our overflow boxes and down in the sump. Attached to rock, glass or acrylic or even your plumbing, they may be about the size of a grain of rice or perhaps larger, like Debi's above. These little filter-feeders are reef-safe.

Harmless, which is a good thing I've got hundreds of them in my sump.

Wondering if you soak you live rock in fresh water if that would kill all the aiptesia. I just bought some rock and have a little bugger on it new tank so i think I will get rid of this problem first

An atomic blast can't kill these things. :wink:
