Won't do well with bright lighting.

+1 I would say there's probably no way to keep one in a reef where high lighting is required. Plus, as a deep sea fish, they are likely VERY intolerant of parameter fluctuations (most of them are). and just to boot, where do you think you might be able to get one? they don't exactly show up at the lfs on a regular basis.

They also grow to 9 inches, need a minimum 125 gallon tank and do beter in groups. That gets to be a pretty large setup for a low light tank.

Thanks for the feed back guys. They have one at Gold Aquarium. But I don't just jump and buy anything, with out a lot of thinking. So when I could'nt find any info relating on the net about keeping them in a tank. It was time to ask you guys.

Going to be a pass on this one for me.

Thanks Guys

they live so deep that their normal temp would probably be in the low 70s. pretty hard to do in a reef tank with MH
