I woke up this morning to a mass of zigzagging eggs on one of the side panels of my aquarium. Through some research, I have determined that my cerith snails have laid eggs. What are the chances that they will hatch and survive? Is this a fairly good indication that my tank is progressing along well? Is it possible to raise the snail eggs and have a breeding population?

This is not my tank, but is exactly what my eggs look like too

My snails have laid eggs many times and I have seen alot of baby snail around the tank. Especially at night. However, I have not noticed an increase in the number of larger snails. I don't know how long it takes for the snails to reach "adult" size, but I've been finding the babies for over a year and a half now.

I concur with Geofrog. I have always got a batch of eggs or two on the glass it seems, and there are little baby snails all over the place, especially at the back of the tank. However, they must be tasty because I only seem to have full grown and super mini sizes.
