Anyone got a good source for the above items?

Air Liquide wants $169 for a 15Lbs bottle, thats the smallest they have, but they do the straight trade for fills, no hydro tests etc..

Best price I can find on a regulator is $80, that doesn't seem to be to bad.

Thanks for any input folks,

Doug.

I like Tius' stuff for regulators and needle valves. If/when I get a new bottle, I'm gonna get one of them fancy aluminum ones!! $159 @J&L

Thanks Brad, my lfs says they can get me CO2 bottles at cost so I will probably do that but they are 5lbs, I was kind of hoping for a 10lbs bottle.

I wouldn't go less than 10, preferably more. And I owe Titus a "T" I missed in his name :D

Thanks for the input I sent Titus a PM and got a reply, I agree it looks like his prices are reasonable.

Trying to find the right tank though.....

Mainland welding in Surrey(Just over the Patullo bridge) has decent prices on bottles. I paid about $70.00 for a 5lb with the first charge free.

Hey,
I just wanted to ask, how come nobody uses the CO2 bottles that you can get from Coca Cola or other pop dealers??

Christy :)

I'm not sure they are the same fittings Christy, and I have been thinking of renting one, have to see how it goes.

That's what I have Christy. I actually got it used, so I don't rent it but it works like a charm.

If you want to purchase a new tank I got mine from KMS Tools in Coquitlam by the new Ikea. Just make sure they know what it is being used for, they have to special order them with the proper fittings. The only place I found locally that would fill my bottle and not do a trade is Air Liquide just off Marine Drive in Vancouver. I cannot remember the actual street they are on. It costs $20 with tax for a 5, 10, or even 15 pound bottle to fill with co2, I think.

Where I work I have an Air Liquide right around the corner, plus another place I can get my clear acrylic for projects, plus another plastics place that sells lots of scrap acrylic real cheap...

The name escapes me at the moment but there is a fire extinguisher place in New West that recharges C02 bottles without exchange. Cost me 15.00 for a 5lb bottle. they are on 12 street.

The only place I found locally that would fill my bottle and not do a trade is Air Liquide just off Marine Drive in Vancouver.

The place Scott pointed out actually does the filling though, I think the place you're talking about sends them out.

Thanks Troy I will look into that. CO2 fills shouldn't be a problem, I will remember to ask that when I phone around.... The GOOD thing with Air Liquide is they swap our your tank BUT you will never have to pay for a hydrostatic test, and you will never have to replace your tank because the hydro tests take a week.... thats cool.

Just a heads up for anyone who is interested. I called KMS and they quoted me a price of $69.95 for a CO2 Regulator I packed up my son and drove out, I couldn't find it so I asked for help. The sales man told me the cheapest CO2 Reg they have is $89.95 when I complained and told them I just called in the sales man said "Oh I thought you meant an Argon Reg" anyway with some arguing and complaining I got the reg for $69.95....

If you are looking for a reg make sure you are clear you want a CO2 Regulator, my understanding is that the price difference is mainly because of the fittings.

Mainland Welding in Surrey has Steel 5lbs cylinders for $89.95 the fill was $20... can't get the tank with out the fill.

Anyway, thats what I did, the LFS has aluminum ones and they are more expensive. I'm trying to cut down on my expendatures.
