i have just dumped my brine hatchewry on my powerbar releasing all the smoke from within (your signature is right christy). just wondering what everone used as i will have to buy a new one now.

do u use the ones with built in timers? i have found the generic one to do fine but i am thinking i would like my light s on a timer and the individual timers take up way to much space.

ANY THING AT ALL.......

I use a ReefKeeper 2. Quite happy with it, can control alot of parameters with it. Tank is too cold? Turn on heater. Tank is too hot? Turn on fans/chiller. Also you can control kalk/calcium reactors off a ph probe if you get that. Has a wavemaker function with softstart. Timers, standby mode, nightmode. etc etc. Check it out:

I have one of these (http://www.axemusic.com/product.asp?P_ID=4456&strPageHistory=search&strKeywords=chauvet&numPageStartPosition=21&strSearchCriteria=any&PT_ID=all) and I like it. When combined with something like this (http://www.amazon.com/Power-Strip-Liberator-Extension-Cords/dp/B000EWVSZK), you can have your timers out of sight. Regarding integrated digital timers on the powerbar... I have one, and it not close to my favourite thing. If you want all-in-one control, consider a controller (http://www.aqua-digital.com).

Hi,

The Coralife digital power bar continues to work well for me after about a year. A lot of people seem to be down on Coralife, but as far as I can tell that's based on their analog model. Far less versatile than the controllers mentioned above, but a bargain at less than $30 at most LFS.

I just picked up 2 from Home Depot. They are the same as the Corallife Digital power bars but they are on sale for $14.99. Made by Intermatic too.

I bought one of those. The timer on it stopped working. I then took it back, and the same exact thing happened again. Then I lost the receipt and couldn't take them back anymore

Edit: Even battery changes did not help. It is only the timer that didn't work, the clock and everything else worked fine.

As for it stoping working have you chcked the battery in the back the timer will stop working if it dies. i was told by my LFS to expect this about every 8 mo.

I would google some reviews on these. There was a rash of fires associated with them in 2007 on RC. Just a heads up.

The coralife ones, not only was there that rash of fires/random melting, we were advised at a LFS in Edmonton that they frequently just died without reason.
