ok so i'm converting to an sps frag tank and gonna plump the tank to a 20 gallon sump, and after some thinking i've decided to dish in and get a decent skimmer, i'm really hooked on the euro-reef RS-80, but now also saw on oceanaquatics.com a nice PM ES100 Venturi Skimmer >http://oceanaquatics.com/store/product/2857/PM-ES100-Venturi-Skimmer/

what would you guys go for, which ones better suited for a 33-gallon sps frag tank, it's barebottom i don't know if that really matters:neutral:
thanks, lol i know i've been annoying with all the skimmer threads but wanna know the pros and cons of each, so i get one that'll last-

I'd go with the ER, it comes with a pump and cleaning the cup doesn't involve a bunch of thumb screws.

ya i just noticed that the PM doesn't come with the pump, but is venturi worse than the system that the RS's use

both models use a venturi design, the ER has it incorporated into the pump.

id go with a euro reef insted of the PM for a few reasons
cheper, no screw and comes with pump.

unless i find a cheap mag drive 7 for the PM, i'll get the RS80, but just by looking at the pics of both skimmers the PM looks like it has a taller reaction chamber, then again there both 22''.

is there a difference in performance when a venturi is driven/created in the pump as opposed to in the reaction chamber like the PM?
