Howdy y'all

Not sure yet if i will drill the bottom of my tank, or the back, or build overflows.

What is viewed as "best practice"? Does anyone have pics of their plumbing as a good guide?

Where in Calgary can I get all the kibbles-n-bits to put it all together?

Be careful if you decide to drill the bottom as many tanks have tempered bottoms and will shatter if you try to drill them. Not that I'd know...

:lol: That much I do know  But that is also an uncertaintiy at the moment. The tank is an OOOOLD (really old) Hagen tank...back when they used 1/2 thick glass:p. I'm hoping to start taking it apart this weekend. Might need to take it to a glazier to tell if it's tempered or pane.

How about using polarized sun glasses to see if it is tempered or not.

Cheers!

I have heard of that, but no-one seems to know what to see/look for when they try that trick. I have polarized contact lenses...wonder if that would work?!:lol:

My question is still this...."What is seen as the best practice for drilled tanks?"

Pictures?? List of needed plumbing parts (and where in Calgary to get them)??
