I was just wondering what people thought of having a garage sale of all the unused aquarium related stuff.
this would be the perfect oppurtunity to get rid of everything you don't need.
I have so much stuff to get rid of it is scary.
If we advertised it for a couple of weeks in the Bargain finder, we might get a bit of a response.
I might also suggest having frags and livestock you dont' need or want anymore for people to buy as well.
I would be willing to open up the back of my shop/store for people to set up tables and such.
I would be willing to organize getting the license and advertising as I need to clean house and it will help let new people know about my store at the same time.
I am thinking next month for a time frame.
LMK what you think

Sounds like a good idea seeing I have to start filling my new 90 gal tank with some live stock.

thats an awesome idea best one yet :razz:also a good way to actually get together with the others that post here on the forum, what about having a BBQ set up and running with the sale? i mean with enough people being interested this thing could get really super big real fast i dont have much to get rid of though maybe a couple of 5 gallon tanks and some other freshwater stuff im new to reefkeeping and i have just barely enough marine equipment. freshwater is welcome right?

I don't have anything to sell, but I would be there as a buyer. I could pick up a 10 gal QT tank and if there were frags, I would buy some of those too.

We're a social bunch! We haven't even started the next reefer's party and we're already planning the next, next one!

Good idea, Neal.

If you set it up for the end of April, I'll drive up. I have other business to attend to up there, but getting some fish stuff would be awesome.

Yeah! Dependant on the date, count me in! I have a couple of sets of pc lights to get rid of and lot's of smaller stuff, too. And Lord only knows what I'll purchase while I'm there.......

Yeah, that wouldn't be too bad, I have some stuff that I need to sell off, tanks and canopies and stuff. Hopefully just selling and not buying.

Yeah, this is a good idea. I'm too lazy to post up all the stuff I have lying around that I'll probably never use again, but having a date set that I could just bring everything to in one go would be good!

Could we not perhaps turn this garage sale into something that might help Neal out.

I suppose we could, the thing is we were going to use his shop as the location. Not exactly sure how much room we would need. Anyone have a space they could offer?

Neal, sorry to hear about your house fire, not too serious I hope. I would be very interested in a garage sale, particularly if we can raise a bit of cash to help Neal out. Count me in as a buyer,

Steve

I'm late on catching this thread, but I'd be game for it. Buying and selling stuff. I agree, I have lots of stuff I'm too busy to post, sell and wait for pickup. If its on a weekend or just a day, I could work around that.

Keep me posted.

I still want to do this...I am downsizing, so I wll have lots of stuff.
Might have to be June now though as things are way too crazy right now.
Living in a hotel sucks.
BTW, Although I do truly appreciate the thought about it being a fundraiser, it truly isn't required.
Thankfully I have more than enough insurance.
