My 45g corner tank has a T5 fixture built in the cover. Using 22" powerGLO 24w tubes tight now. originally for FW Going to JL, OA etc next week, Wondering what tubes I should look into? No corals rigth now, but hoping to be able to have some low light corals soon from Inteior reef. Should I do a Actinic and a 10000K or 15000K or????? Fish will consist of Royal Gramma, Goby or 2, Pair of clowns and either a yellow longnose butterflyfish or Bangaii cardinal. maybe both, but that may be to much bioload?? Excuse to upgrade, right HAHAHA.
I love the vibrant colors some of you get out of your lights. My lids on my tank are plastic, and only 2" above water, so MH is out of question. and the new LED setups are intriguing, but way out of my price range

I'll get some pics of the tank once the lights come on too

Hopefully someone will step in as I might be off for T5s but seems for the same wattage with MH, the higher the temperature less PAR is there for growth. This you need to balance this against that to get the corals to glow your looking at the higher temperature to actinic. Realize this isn't much help.

There's a huge T5 thread here (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=12144518#post12144518) that might be of help though.

Nice setup btw.

Acctually looking at a coralife 2x65w PC fixture online here , may be able to incorperate it inplace of the stock light. :D

From J&L, try out a UVL AquaSun (10K), and a Giesemann True Actinic. Really nice color, and high output.

Don't bother with PCs if you're wanting to add corals or an anemone at some point...they won't cut it. Buy another T5 unit if all else fails. J&L has good T5 fixtures...a couple different brands, both excellent.

What Myra said, stick with the T5 and you'll have more options.

Ahh, good, thx for the heads up. Would have thought PC would be better cause of the more wattage in same size fixture, but I gues all aint what it appears, huh??
