AC Motor mod

Has any one tried to mod the motor for an aquaclear HOB filter into a powerhead like the maxi-jet mods? Or for that matter are the motors even submersible? I have 2 cracked filters laying around from my freshwater days and was hoping I could use the motors.

I believe those motors are not submersible. It should say on the side.

Actually no it doesnt say. If you look down where the power cord goes you can see epoxy resin though.

Ah well, so much for that idea. Not gonna drill holes for powerheads.:lol:
