Thanks everyone for your comments :) . I know we have a ways to go, but we are really enjoying this. Just wished the tank was drilled so we wouldn't have an external overflow.

It is doing well. I am liking it. It is still a little blue, but on the whole- I think it was a good choice.
I am still looking into getting a daylight bulb so we can see the corals & fish during the day and thus, cut down on such a high photo period.

can you explain that a little better? to me it sounds like you only want to run your radiums for a bit in the morning and the evening and then have a daylight bulb on during the day. is that right?

No, I want to run daylights for the morning. Then the halides mid-late afternoon til evening.
The fish won't come out until the lights are on. And weekends, we would like to see them in the morning.
