The first of, I hope, many workshops that the Reef network has planned How to take pictures of your Aquarium will be a fun afternoon with 2 people that work in the photographic industry.
Both Brad and myself have more years working in the photo industry than we would like to admit. The day will include one on one tips and tricks for your specific camera along with general rules of picture taking.

Please bring your camera and any accessories you would use to take pictures, Lenses, Tripod, Light boxes

The event will take place on Saturday March 15th @ 2:00pm

Please RSVP here or on the Reef Network Blog (http://reefnetwork.blogspot.com/) or 3Reef.

Hi Jason

Its 82 and sunny down here in Florida, however I will be back in reality next Friday.

You can count me in and let my tell you, I need a lot of help when it comes to taking pictures of my tanks. My pictures always look as if I could be used as an earthquake early warning system.

The photo seminar event is a go (as far as I know...)

The address is:

House #66
1701 Parkway Blvd.
Coquitlam, BC

604-464-3055 if you get lost. It is right near the Westwood Plateau Academy golf course. There are only 4 available guest parking spots, so come on time (2PM) or you'll have to park on Parkway and walk a block.

Don't forget this Saturday at 2:00. Plenty of time to hit your LFS before you head to Brad's

Everyone is Welcome!!!

We've decided that we had best specify a time for the door prize draw. Be there before 4PM, or miss your chance at the digital camera!

I'll be there. Since there's limited parking, hopefully we can arrange some carpooling. I'm in Burnaby, where's everyone else coming from?

I'll bring some brownies for snacks too.

I'm all in favour of carpooling....but don't do it just because parking is bad. There are only 4 prime parking spots. Beyond that, you just have to walk 100 yards...

If there is still room, I'd like to attend.

[Anthony, I'll call you tomorrow about a car pool]

Last advertisement!!!

Recharge your batteries tonight!!!

Bring your camera...even if you think your camera is no good...We'll show you how to get the most out of the camera you have.

Don't have a camera or your camera is broken? Come anyway! There will be spare cameras available so you can try your skills.

Thanks for hosting this very informative & fun event. Met up with lots of local reefers & learned some good tips from both Brad & Jason about how to take better pics. Thank your wife for the munchies too. Sorry the Fudgy Brownie Bits were storebought & not home-made.

See you all on Wednesday night at the Fresgo.

Your tank is always worth the visit.

Thanks to both Brad and Jason for presentation. It was great to see everyone who took advantage of this event. I expect to see a much better quality of pictures in the posts from our GVRD Canreef members.

Remember we have a REEF NETWORK dinner on Wednesday and everyone is welcome. Come out and meet other REEFERS, we would love to here about your tank.

I appreciate the info you had for the group Jason. Just one of the tidbits I learned allowed me to post the pictures in the thread instead of my old way of posting a link. Now I just need to put some of the others to good use and take some picture of my tank. Ive try ed to take some in the past but could never get anything that even resembled what my tank actually looked like. I'm positive with what I learned that it will be possible to take some that wont embarrassed me if I post them.

Dang......... I need to get me a DSLR & a good macro lens.

Those are some good pics. Makes the pics I took with my Canon S5 IS look not so good (I guess I could have used a tripod)

i use both the S5IS and A650IS. both CAN take amazing pictures, but the tripod definitely increases your chances!

my mom has some funky new DSLR and i can get better pictures with my cameras than when i borrowed her camera for a while.
