I have an amazing wife. We all say stuff like that, but my wife continuously outdoes herself & I have to brag about what she did for me yesterday. Last night, I was called to work todays day shift on O/T. Fine, comes with the job. Only problem was that I had planned on meeting up with two other Canreef members (at two seperate locations), to buy a massive load of frags, colonies, inverts & an brute of an anemone. !@#$% I'm gonna have to cancel! One guy is coming all the way from Gibson's (with the majority of the critters) & who knows when I'm gonna have a chance to meet up again. What a complete bummer.

"I'll do it for you" she says with a smile. "Pardon?" I say, I'm sure I must be hallucinating. "I'll pick them up for you. Just write down everything & I'll do it". Now to help put this in perspective, this woman will be getting up @ 05:30am to greet the first of her daycare kids (we run a licensed daycare from our home), then waking, dressing, feeding & generally corraling our three kids & international student to school as well as several daycare drop-off's. She then is going (with our three year old) to several appointments & THEN plans to go & pick up all my goodies for me :shocked!: .

I've been a Paramedic for sixteen years, worked the skids/downtown eastside, I train & yell at Millitary Med Tech students on their way to Afghanistan & I couldn't do her job in a million years.

So after she picks me up off the floor and gives me a "what's the big deal?" kind of look, I then mention the fact she is going to have to actually come in physical contact with all this stuff, including a massive anemone that will do it's very best to gross her out & perhaps actually eat her (let's just say that up till now, she has been down-right "girly" about any slimey critter that we've come across, i.e.;"Get that thing away from me or your sleeping outside", & I'm talking at the supermarket, nevermind anything oceanside). This Lady had yet to stick a pinky in one of my tanks to date so needless to say, I was surprized at the offer.

So what have you done for your spouse lately?

The nicest thing about your story, Sushiman, is that she volunteered... you didn't even have to ask her!

:) I can feel the love all the way over here!

Yesterday we had a power failure. My wife took blankets and wrapped the tanks to keep down the heat loss.

My wife Irene is 5 1/2 months pregnant & she just volunteerred to take a week off work to go to Powell River to take care of my friend Dean's 2 little daughters, 2 dogs, and assorted animals so Dean can come here to help me with some house renos we want/need to get done before the baby arrives. Did I mention she's 5 1/2 months PREGNANT!!! Yeah, sometimes women, especially are spouses are amazing.

I just talked with my wife & she said that previous claims to the anemones vastness may have been exaggerated. I guess I'll find out when I get home.

Well...like a lot of things they tend to shrink up when their environment drastically changes.....you know like cold water. Ya and you have a pretty good wife....she even feeds me a couple of times a year.

Hey Sushiman,
I hope you're not dissapointed with the anemone but it was in my sump for just about a month so it lost all color and some size. I'm sure it'll be back to normal in no time.
This is it in October when I bought it from the lfs, I thought it was a nice small anemone for my biocube

Untill it turned out like this 2 months later and way too big
