Hi everyone,

We are selling our Sohal. He is a beautiful fish, but he is a wee bit cranky towards my smaller tangs. Here is a pic of him......we are looking for $75.00 which is less than half price to what the local stores are asking for him.

What's his current size (approx)?

Amazing fish! I wish I had a tank big enough.

yup. A 7" sohal in a 120 might go crazy by then. Just my opinion. Sohals are notorious space hogs, and can get aggressive and kill things if they get too cramped.

Adidas,

What other fish do you have. This guy is pretty nippy, so if you have any other little guys, he may not be suitable. I would rather take him to Golds then have him disrupt your tank.

i wonder..i've only got a flagfin and 1 green chromis in my tank.. maybe i better start that tank sooner!

I'd honestly evaluate how long until you have a 600 up and running. 2 months, then maybe. 4-10 months, probably pass...

I kinda agree Adidas. We would have been happy to drive him out to you....I think you might be really upset in a few days once he's bugged your other fish. What are you thinking?

well no other tangs in my system, so that shouldn't be a problem. just wondering about tank size. my tank is 60L x 30H x 24W

Well that definatley makes a difference for swimming room back and forth. He seems to like swimming back and forth a lot more than up and down....anyone else think that makes a difference?

ya, 5 ft is better than 4, so that will help. Again, make sure the upgrade is sooner rather than later...

What do you keep all your levels at. One more thing too....in a 600 gallon tank he will probably more than double in size and with that will come more aggression. Are you going to keep a lot of ather tangs. I know its a lot of questions....I just really want to make sure he gets the right home

What do you keep all your levels at.

Levels wouldn't really matter, as long as salinity is 1.021 - 1.026.

my levels are great, i've had my system stable for a long time. If the fish seems constricted, guess i'll have to start the new tank next month.

I just had to note how nice it is too see someone trying to find the right home for the fish instead of just trying to make a sale. I know lots of canreeef members do this, it just alway so nice to see.

Thanks Fishoholic......I am always worried about their little fishy feelings. Lol! But heh, we are lucky enought to be able to have these little beauties in our living rooms or wherever.....we really owe it to them to give them the best homes we can.

I believe you would. With only 2 other fish in your tank I think a sohal might be ok for a couple of months, but the sooner the 600g is up and running the better.
