Yeah, I know Lent started on Wednesday, but better late than never? As part of my own spiritual journey, I've decided to give up the internet, starting tomorrow (Sunday, February 10).

I will miss Canreef most....but I'll see you all again in about 6 weeks :)

P.S. If anyone needs to reach me (though I can't imagine!), please email me at work (ajespersen@bgcc.ab.ca).

Er ... well, good luck with that. Can I have my drill bits back before then???? Since I won't be able to nag you about it via PM ;)

Good on ya! But, um, isn't email part of the "internet?"

LOL. Tony, I was planning on giving them to Joel. Is that what you wanted? And yeah...email is part of the internet, but I also have to do my job, which requires the use of my work email account. I do what I can.

It's what Joel wanted anyhow ... I just want them back at some point ;) (please?)

Edit: If just one of you can at least let me know who has them ... basically my concern here is that I don't want to lose track of them. I'll be needing to do some plumbing in the coming weeks so at some point I do need them back. :)

Absolutely. At this point, I just feel bad for having it so long  Maybe I should give up borrowing drill bits for lent? If you'd rather have me just return them to you, that's cool....obviously :)

LENT, in most Christian denominations, is the forty-day liturgical season of fasting and prayer before Easter.[1] The forty days represent the time Jesus spent in the desert, where, according to the Bible, he endured temptation by Satan.[2] Different churches will calculate the forty days differently.

The purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer—through prayer, penitence, almsgiving and self-denial—for the annual commemoration of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, as celebrated during Holy Week, which recalls the events linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Teutonic word Lent, which we employ to denote the forty days' fast (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/cathen/05789c.htm) preceding Easter (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/cathen/05224d.htm), originally meant no more than the spring season.

ok so I see.. I saw the most Christian faiths comment and wondered.. I have two of the biggest represented here and neither of us had hear of this but I later found it is a Jewish ceremony.

Well, I didn't last 6 weeks, but I did last 1. Hah! It became impossible with all the projects I'm doing right now. *sigh* Alas, my one week was great and very productive.
