OH wow. I'm actually kind of shocked.....that's a LOT of fish. How many? How big is your tank?

The tank looks pretty big, as you can't see the ends on either side of the pictures. Looks deep too.

No doubt, that looks mad overstocked.

I disagree with the "overstocked" statement. I see a lot of room where there are no fish. If you go diving you can't help but notice the fish like company and crowd themselves into groups. The real question is can this system handle the bioload? It looks pretty clean so I am guessing yes.
I think it looks great.

Hey Chris,

Looks good buddy! How many gallons was your system again? It was pretty close to 1000 wasn't it?

LoL Am I the only one who can tell it was Photo-shopped?
A Very good job mind you, but fake.
Look on the sand, no fish shadows.
Also too many are in perfect focus at once,
And some are duplicates of one fish.
Dream tank for sure :P

They aren't there in the first pic, and they were added in to the other 2 with photoshop, too perfect

If the first picture was taken without a flash, there wouldn't be shadows on the back of the tank. Just a thought.

If it is NOT faked...and somebody thinks it looks fake...is that a compliment? Has the aquarist in question produced something that looks unreal?

Faked or not faked..that is the question. Nice picture regardless..Is that a Majestic angel in one of the pic's? I have a juvenille majestic that I have just picked up and I am pretty sure the one looked like an adult.

Whatever camera settings you'd need to get a shutter speed that catches so many fast fish with no motion blur, and gets a focal length that long... well, those settings don't exist on my SLR -- or at least I don't know how to do it.

I believe it is intended to troll for the tang police.

If you want to slow down the "fast moving" fish, just walk up to the tank so they think they are going to get fed, then step back and take the pictures. That is what I would do.

pic's were taken with a canon digital SLR and i think the starphire glass really helped alot making the pictures so clear .

Not sure what the focal length would have to do with it. With flash or powerful reef tank lights, you can stop down the aperture so the the depth of field is very big. Shutter speed would not have anything to do with the amount of fish, if you can catch the fastest one without blur, the rest would not be blurred either.

It may have photoshopped. Some unsharp mask, maybe some white balance adjustments. No shadows due to the fact the poster used a flash, thus most of the light captured would be from the flash.

first of all, i would like to let you all know this photo is not photoshop in any way or form!, you can take a look at my post i have created awhile back, there are 4 250 watt MH on the tank, the system is connect to a huge sump in the basement.

if you guy think it's fake, i'll go record some videos for you when i head to chris house.

chris just knows how to take pictures thats all he doesn't even know how to use any photoshop software.

its not fake, i up the pixels on the picture and they match, not even a good photoshopper can get them to match, plus you can see the shadows in the glass, and even.. if the fish is high enough your not going to see the shadows

That's what I'd like to have someday. But with that many fish I think a 1000g + size display tank would be better than a 500g display. However I'm not one to judge as I know I'm a bit overstocked too. I will say that the fish look healthy and that's always a good thing.

Sorry for the late replies. but im in the works on getting a tank journal done with step by step pictures on the build.

Mr.alberta: And yes my setup will be over 1000 gallon when everything is done

Der_iron_chef: the tank size is 132x33x28

Joe Reefer: As for the fish count there isn't much in there yet about 45+ but ill be gettting more angels in there.

I think my initial disbelief was because it is incredible (literally).

I'll second the appeal to having it as part of the reef crawl. It is imposing, but... sheesh, what a tank! Anyone in the hobby would love to see it.

Piaa, I Love your tank!!! I see that you are also having some softies. Is it food for the angels or they are not touching at them? I love your burgees butterfly, i was looking on adding on in my tank and a few angels. Any recommendation for people that would like to put some angels/butterflies in a reef tank? Thanks a lot and give us some more pictures of equipment and all!!!
Again, your tank is outstanding!
