I’m looking at supplementing the stock 2X55W lighting my Red Sea Max came with and have two alternatives I‘m considering. Adding a 70w HQI 14,000K or adding T5 40w (20w 10,000k and 20w actinic) to the stock lighting.
Any opinions on what would better complement the stock lighting?
The T5’s would run cooler, be cheaper and a lot easier to do. Would the HQI give better penetration, better light spectrum for SPS corals?
I’m looking into these modes because I want better lighting for hard corals and, the more accurate reason, I am a mods junkie. :biggrin:
