Im looking to start a 280 g reef and i wanted to use the solaris I4 system. it says that it produces par lighting to a 400w MH and i wasn't sure if that was per led panel or for the complete fixture. im sure it's per panel just I want to be sure.

If you are wanting to see the Solaris in action, here's a really interesting build thread where the guy uses first the H model and then switches to the I.
I've chatted with this guy a few times and I'm sure he'll answer any questions you have.

One theory that goes against the LED lighting is that LED doesn't produce UV. Our corals produce color to protect them from UV light. So there is the idea that LED lighting will give you "brownipora". I don't think the lights have been out long enough to really know "for sure" yet.

From my reading it looks like as the years go on LED lighting will become a lot cheaper and a lot brighter.
For me it doesn't look like the time to buy LED lighting right now. It is kind of like the people who bought a plasma TV 5 years ago for $15,000.00 when now the TV's are much better and cheaper. But if you have the money to spend, go for it.
