Feed at least 4 times daily.

Is this true ?? Why would it need to eat 4 times a day ?

These are very active fish that in the wild are constantly feeding on tiny larval plankton in the water column. Thus they need to be fed often.

It seems what most people with anthias do is set up an automatic feeder to feed a few times throughout the day, and then feed by hand in the evening.

Personally, no, but I don't really care for flake food. Yes you can put flake in auto feeders. I used to use pellets in mine.

I have 7 Lyre Tail Anthias and I feed them mini pellets once a day. I only feed about 30 pellets 4 - 6 at a time. I have had my Anthias for about a year and a half and they are very healthy

Any pellet food, new life spectrum, formula one/two, etc. should work. Pellets are concentrated foods I believe, however some are packaged with a gelatin base. There is some debate about the benefits/drawbacks of the gel in tanks.

I use the formula one/two mini pellet. I buy one of each and mix them into single container. When I feed, it is one or two pinches of the mixed pellets dropped into the tank at a rate that the fish are able to get every pellet before it hits the bottem.
