Hi,
I have a small reef type tank (30G) give or take the measurements are
30X12X21(LXWXH). I want to put a 150W halide 14K light on it currently have a 150W of Flourescent lights and my corals seem to be doing alright but the lighting is a set of one coralife 24" 2x65W and a smaller coralife with 28W Flourescent fixture.
I would like to know if the Aqualight 150W metal halide would be a good fixture for my setup. Would it give me the same light as the flourescents.
I have Frogspawn, Bubble coral,Xenia, and an anenome and some mushrooms presently, along with a Clown, firefish, Damsel and Banded shrimp plus 2-hermit crabs

One thing to concern is light fr the MH will be more of a point source compared to what you have.

I have 150W Sunpod on my 30 inch tank, and it lights it just fine. The side get enough light, even thought it is point source lighting. You will have a few shadows, depending on your rock work.

thanks Mark and Maxxim...that is what I wanted to hear. LOL I have the tank setup dividing a room and the rock work is centered as with inhabitants.
