While the tank was set up almost 5 years ago.
To say it was getting over grown is for sure.
I have been procrastinating for about six months. Some of the corals were totally out of control (you know the house down the street where the rose bushes are now a hedge).
While my friend Anthony kept pushing and pushing till we finally set a date and time. Oh we have set dates and times before, but this became a dam-it do-it.
It took us all day but what a difference. That foot and half Toadstool gone, that Multi Coloured Acro it is now half its size. The fish actually have somewhere to swim. We actually took out about half of the rock. It still is a little over run with CORALS as it turned out this my favorite oh and this is another favorite and yes I got this one from ??? I just can not not have in my tank. Anthony's patients was greatly appreciated, Your a good friend Anthony thank you for for all your help and the Aquascaping is fantastic, what a new look.

I will post pictures later.

You're welcome Tom. You've always been a good friend & so coming over to spend a day working on your tanks was NOT a hardship:biggrin: Besides, what else would a reefer want to do 5 days before Christmas? Go to the mall & face those crowds?:twised: I really like the new look too. Hope to see pics soon.

are you by any chance selling any toadstool frags?:)

procrastination always kills me...then i end up working frantically to get it done before the gf rips my head off.

Ha..ha...it just occurred to me that my tank will just be hitting stride when it is 5 yrs old. By then, I expect some of my corals will be 2 feet wide and nearly 2 feet tall! (good to have a plan, anyway)

I wonder actually how much water volume you have displaced with coral growth over the years....

Looks fantastic Tom! I love the changes, what a lot of work!

Let's see. 2 guys - start 10:45am - finish 6:20pm (plus couple of hours clean up afterwards) & 1/2 hour break for lunch. About 14 reefer hours in total but well worth the time & effort:biggrin:

Removing almost all the base rock helped lower the corals down 6" so there is a lot more swimming room & area for current to freely swirl around. The fish seemed to love the extra swimming room, but losing their old hidey-holes may cause them lots of confusion for a few nights until they find new sleeping areas.

You should have seen how many containers of water, coral colonies, frags, & live rocks we had strewn in the room while we doing all this:surprise:

Good job...now you have fresh tanks to look at. Looks like a million dollars was spent and all you had to do was feed Anthony....good deal!

Hey Tom, thanks for having me over today. Your display room and fish room were magnificent as always and the new aquascaping/clean-out looks great.
