I really like the E-ballast form SunLight supply. Or Blueline
Galaxy 250W E-ballast (http://oceanaquatics.com/store/product/2515/Galaxy-Single-Ballast---250w/)

I have these (http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/store_pages/details/lightparts.php?product_ID=pfo-be250e) on my tank with lumenarc mini reflectors. I like them.

The PFO HQI ballast will give you the highest output and efficiency (http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/alldataforalamp.php?x1=18&x2=9&x3=XM%20250W%2010000K%20SE%201&x4=Magnetek%20250W%20(M58)&x5=N)

The only thing I don't like about the hqi ballast is it over drives the bulb
and you get less life out of it.I think I'm going to use an m58 ballast.
Found this today and it helped me out a lot http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=31117
