Check Ocean Aquatics. It's not on their site, but they might be able to special order. They're just off River Road.

Hi Eric

J&L and Hidden Reef are the only people carring it here. The distibutor is Proline Aquatics.

Thanks everyone, I will have to check out the ultra lith system as well.

I am just about to order the Zeovit system and was wondering just how many people are using it (or a related product like Reef-Resh or ultra lith)?

Hi Shane

I have been using ZEOvit for 1 year now. My main tank (the 180G) is just under 5 years old and my second tank (the 125G) is just over 3 years old. Note that on established high nutrient tanks you start off at about 50% of the dosage for the first few cycles. My expense to date has been approx $1200 and that includes at least a 6 months inventory of ZEOvit product. My current dosages are a fraction of what is indicated on the bottles yet my results are great. I see other tanks around using the other mentioned products and their results are great too. I picked the ZEOvit system as my estimates showed that the ZEOvit system for my size of system (approx 500G) would be the most inexpensive.

For a better understanding of who is doing what you should setup a poll.

I'm Also running Zeovit for about a year and 3 months. I started just after my tank cycled. I agree with what Tom has stated and believe that most Bacteria based systems work in similar ways.
I've calculated my net water volum to be 300G and my current doesing is
6 drops ZEOBac every 3 days
3 drops ZEOStat7 every 3 days
0.6 ml ZEOStart2 morning and night
3L ZEOLith changed every 12weeks
That is the basic 4 and is required. I also add
Amino Acids 6 drops daily
Coral Vitalizer 6 drops Daily
K-Balance when needed to keep Potassium at or about 400ppm

Does everyone use carbon along with Zeovit, Ultra lith, etc.

It's required for Zeovit

HERE (http://captiveoceans.com/pdfs/ZEOguide%20103%20English.pdf) is a link to the Zeovit Guide. It should give you a good overview of Zeo

how do you keep the temp of water at 90 degrees Celcius for 24 hours. Or do you just heat it to 90 in the beginning.
Thanks for the guide Jason

90 C where did you read that?

In the guide on pg. 14 somewhere. I kinda thought I misread it, so i re-read it and that is what it said. Did anyone actually do that or did they just soak it for 24 hours.
Thanks

I read it again and it says to heat the RO water to 90 C then let the carbon soak for 24 hours while it cools. Makes sense now.

Was in a rush before, making dinner.

I am going to order my ZEOvit ASAP. Which brand of reactor is everyone using (Grotech, Captive Oceans, Octopus, DIY etc)? Does your reactor have a valve to adjust the flow rate? I think you need to reduce flow initially when starting on a high nutrient system. Any recommendations?
Thanks

I use the Goetech. Yes it has a valve to control flow

I use the Goetech. Yes it has a valve to control flow. I ran it about 1/2 open for the first cycle. Some people put it on a timer and run it 3 hours on then 3 hours off. If you follow this plan ensure that the ZEOlites are continually covered in water. They should not be exposed to air and allowed to dry out.

Jason and Tom:
Just for my clarification are you using the GroTech Zeolith filter ZF110/150 below?
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k301/Surgeonfish/ZF-110_96dpi_rgb1.jpg

I can't see any value to control flow thru the filter! Where did you get your zeofiliters?

I got my reactor from Hidden Reef. I bought a starter kit for $350. The kit came with the large reactor. It holds 3 litre of ZEOlites.

Tom
Does your Zeolithfilter filter look exactly like the picture on my last post? You mention decreasing the flow initially but I don't see a valve on the unit.

Tom R

The reactor is the same as this. It has a valve that can adjust the flow.

that is also the same as mine (the link in Tom's post) the ball valve is on the true union just above the pump. It is not shown in the pic.

I just ordered the Zeolith ZF150 reactor and supplies from J&L. I don't want to highjack this threat so when it comes I will start a threat and hopefully take regular pictures of my tank to see if there is any noticable changes to the corals.
