Steve, what ballasts did you end up going with for the 250w Aqualine Bushkes ? Can you give me all the specs (and where you got them if you'd like.. )? Do you have them up and running, and if so, are you happy with the color?

You may have mentioned this in another thread, but I couldn't seem to pick it out. :?

I think I'll start swapping out the coil and core ballasts soon so I can move to one of the German bulbs.

I ended up going with the Advance ANSI M80 ballast. PN 71A5880. J&L sells them as a (250 watt HQI bare ballast) for 149.99 and they say 1 week delivery. I get them for about 10.00 cheeper and have a 2 week delivery.. I should have mine this thrusday
I would sugest calling localy to lighting places in town (Calgary) and asking how much for that ballast.. you might get a better price than I did.

Is there any online info on these single-ended AB 250's? All I can find are the double-endeds.

The spectral analysis from Sanjay is in the 2002 Annual.

Delphinus, the 250 watt 13000K AB mogual base are a HQI lamp.. as well as the 250 watt double ended.. (they used to be 10000K but are now 13000K) if you have any AB 10000K lamp it is a HQI acording to AB's head office.

Umm thanks that's all good but what I meant was is there any online info, I haven't been able to find all that much stuff yet, even at www.ab-aqualine.de (Ok admittedly, I havent checked the German pages there yet). So where did you pick these up, Deb?

I've been following commentary on the AB bulbs for a while on RAMR, and subsequently the reviews on PAR etc. impressed me. So I decided to give them a try. However, I tried them on plain old coil/core whatever ballasts, and sold them real CHEEP to Steve....

I am really interested to see how the bulbs look with these new ballasts as they were totally yellow on mine.

I ordered them from http://www.reeffanatic.com/cgi-bin/mas/category.cgi?category=353120

They will USPS, I've always received within one week.

Ohh wow, RAMR, there's a blast from the past.... That forum is still active? Good to hear.

Thanks for all the info.
