I was scraping the glass on the tank this morning and looked over and saw this. This coral often looks "hairy" but never to this extreme :lol:

Wow serious Rogaine! That looks so awesome! Likely he's annoyed though, I can't remember what those stringy bits are called.

Think they're called slime. Acros do that sometimes if you pull them out of water, or do a large water change that ticks them off a bit. Not a concern as long as it stops shortly.

They're mesenterials filaments I believe... definitely not slime anyway :biggrin:

Ah, ya, if it doesn't blow loose in the current, then mesenterials. Pic looks like slime after moving a coral out of water. The particulate from scraping has probably annoyed it. Definately not Rogaine...

Which is a good thing. I'd hate to have a coral that was so vain, it was worrying about going bald :razz:

Agreed. Baldness is a gift....or that's what I try to tell myself.
