I was looking at this weeks home hardware flyer and on the front page they have a power consumption meter (like the kill-a-watt) for sale ~$20.

They actually work a friend has one, he bought to checkout his freezer power consumption. But his was more expensive than that one. Personaly I am too scared to hook it up to the reef system power and find out I am paying the equivalent of light a small town up.

I bought one from Home Hardware awhile back to check into a couple really high power bills. I going to try and figure out roughly what my set-ups cost per month. Of coarse this will be undercover mission until results are in and then decide on whether or not to reveal the information gathered with the other half of my house hold government. That's how politics work right ?

The Calgary Public Library also has Kill-o-Watt meters you can borrow.

Most definately. Complete stealth is required for something like this.
