Does anyone know why my foxface fish would go to the surface constantly and he looks like he is eating air. We are pretty sure the tank has lots of oxygen in it. Everyone is healthy and even the foxface, he is just doing this weird thing with the surface of the water.

some advise would be great

I know they cant breathe it, but he looks like hes eating it..and theres nothing on the surface for him to eat..

will try feeding him and see if that helps.

My scribbled rabbit does the same thing.....I just think its playtime. He gets tired of chasing the mimic tang, then blows bubbles for a bit, then goes after another fish.

Watch for any other odd ball behavior, resipratory changes, eating, etc. Sounds like you're safe from the other postings.

I had my foxface for 6 years i was worried the first time i saw that... he use to do it all the time... he also use to fall asleep against the power heads and when i woke up he had powerhead hickies on his side..

shouldnt be anything to worry about:)

I wouldnt say that...just playful. Look at some of the dumb things people do when they are bored.

Mine did that too.

The Foxface is one of the most personable fish I've ever kept :D.

mine did that for a bit so I started to feed him there. Now I can have my Foxface eat out of my fingers i have even started to pet him on his nose. Funny then heck too considering that if I get stung from him i'm going to the fine place upstairs. but hey I'm not always playing with a full deck any how.. Right Doug. and with that being said my lamerick angel has been following my Foxface to the top to eat out of my hands too..

My foxface always goes to the top of the tank too, don't know why but he seems to like it.
