View Full Version : Are thes lights considered actinics?

Is the Coralife Aqualight T5 Strip Light considered a actinic because my Friend is setting up a reef tank and he has 3x 70w mh over a 33 g and wants to get actinic.

the ones on the botto, with 2 lights.

PS- he dosent whant to change the bulbs because they think that those are actinics.

Only one of those bulbs is an actinic bulb. The other is a 10K bulb.

That one comes with 1 actinic and 1 10K
so he's 1/2 right.

I knew it its a 50/50 fixture i just posted this to prove to him that he is wrong he should scrap the 10k and get another actinic. Do you guys agree with me?

Actinic light promotes the growth of Zoaxanthellae algae, essential for growth and well-being of all Photosynthetic corals and invertebrates [ not Macro algae.]
A good rule of thumb is to use one actinic and one or two daylight [ T5 ]
