I'm sure you've all seen THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz_JqLPzWCU) Telus commerical. Am I the only one bothered by it?!!!

The only thing that came to my mind was all of the people seeing this and then buying the fish and knowing nothing about them.

Kind of like after Finding nemo where everyone wanted a Dori in their little tank.

i can see your point and agreed but i still thought the commercial was pretty cool......

everytime i see one of these commercials, i just shake my head and wonder why they would take a perfectly gorgeous fish like the lemonpeel and invert the colours for no apparent reason. could they not find a suitable blue fish in all the ocean? and then of course, they go and use a normal lemonpeel in another ad! just boggles the mind. and the lemonpeel isnt the only one either, there's a few obviously (and not very well done) photoshopped fish for no reason. just looks unatural. jmo.

and of course the finding nemo reason is another big thing for me too. and why on earth is a FW fish in there? im not sure that one would be a long term friend :D

in short, yeah it does bother me a lil. not a lot. just a lil. kinda the same way when some person on the bus plays his/her music just loud enough that all you hear is "thump, thump, thump". it's there and there isnt much i can do about it, and it isnt meant to annoy me, but yet, it does still annoy me a little bit.

They also use gheckos, monkeys and cavemen. As colin said "it's just a commercial"

It's cute and harmless IMO

Ok, well I don't mean "bothered" in the sense that I'm bothered by homelessness and teenage prostitution!

I mean...well, there's a freshwater fish swimming around with four saltwater fish. Ok, maybe I'm just picky, but C'MON! It's like Telus making a commercial set in the Serengeti, with a zebra, a giraffe, a lion and a.....moose.

I love the commercials....for the average "joe" they are just great, eye catching and really I don't think anyone will attempt to duplicate it...good marketing I think...look at us, talking about it. Isn't that the idea? Next time we go to buy a cell phone etc we'll remember the commercial. We as a group remember it because of the flaw with fish choice, and the color issues with some of the fish (man I wish my Naso was that colorful!) but others just think it is so freakin cool!

Hahahahhaha.

Guys, maybe the Parrotfish is supposed to symbolize Telus' liberal support for anti-racism.

Think outside the box!

My wife knows that commercial makes me shake my head... so she calls me as if she has something important to tell me when i am out of the room so she can laugh at me when i see that parrot swimming around....

I am on board the band wagon... i think it is annoying as far as commercials go....

in their original one, they had a trigger that looked a lot like a crosshatch trigger, and if I recall correctly, they're one of the meanest SW fish out there.

The blue one they've recolored. No doubt someone said "we can't have 2 yellow fish! make that one..um...blue!" and by the power of photoshop (or some fancy arse program) it was done. Kind of made me laugh as like there aren't a billion blue sw fish they could have chose from but no they have to recolorize a yellow one

This is hilarious!! I just saw this thread – I do the same thing!! LOL!!

Years ago, I used to work at RadioShack in City Centre and we had this “fish tank” screen saver running of a reef tank, with a variety of fish (random) swimming it. Every so often when the screen saver stated up, it would pick a lion fish as one of the tank mates. I used to make fun of it to my non fishy co-workers – “A large lion fish in a reef tank, I don’t think so!”…

Then Harvey came in one day to drop off a ballast (still going strong BTW) and made the same comment. My co-workers didn’t know how to react. Good times.

No, you're not the only one, I had a similar reaction. "Hey that's a FW fish!!!"

Good analogy. :)

I thought the same thing, as well as which type of SW fish could go together and which ones couldn't and I also thought a few were miss coloured.

Well of course, why do you think cows can't swim and dolphins can't chew cud!

that would be totaly silly for a cow and dolphin to swim and chew cud togeather... they would strip the ocean of grass.

Ok, there is a wire that comes out of the back of your TV..... plug it into the wall outlet.. looks the same as the plug on the end of your electrical equipment for your fish tank. then if you look at the back of your computer you will see a cable that has crimped ends and goes from your cable modem to the wall, look for the same fitting on the back of your tv... get another cable and fine another wall fitting to conect it to.......

um, you do have my cell and my home number.. did I not tell you to call if you needed help??? oh I am duty sunday, sailing on monday and going to parksville sunday, but next weekend I have no plans.
