Well I purchased this skimmer from Dez who was selling it from a guy in Edmonton who had for many years and only used it for a short time. It was sitting there collecting dust so Dez sold it to me.
I was just curious if anyone knew at first glance what brand, if any is this skimmer.

It's 6" acrylic with a HUGE venturi. The collection cut is not removable.
Any info would be great! Thanks.http://members.shaw.ca/reefs/canadian_man/post/DSC00500-1.JPG

Hey Jonathan,

Do you have that clam book by Knop? There are pictures of some of the earlier skimmers in there. Maybe we can check out some of those books on our fish run today...

Did you check the net?

Dez,
No I don't have the "clam book" :(

I did do some searching on the net but not too much. All I could mostly find were newer skimmer link .

Don't worry Tony....

We didn't do a fish run, I went by myself. Just went to riverfront, pisces, wai's and ocean. Nothing too much. I love the sohal tangs at Ocean. Oh btw Jonathan, there are nice mangroves at wai's....$25. Same price as anywhere else...

I asked Danny if he would sell little 1" pieces of acros that had already broken off in his stony tank and he refused. That's wierd, because he already had a big colony of the purple acro...encrusted nicely. Oh well....it's better off trading with friends anyway.

Thanks Reef-raf.
that's a good link. looks kinda similar.

Tony, like dez said no worries I couldnt go anyway's "maintainance"

Dez, I couldnt work up the courage to ask danny if he would sell the frags.
That's funny. I could forsee $150 for a colony and $145 for a frag  :)
I think I would order the mangroves from j/l when I want them. $25.00 is too much.

On a point of interest, I've asked Danny about those pieces too and he wasn't interested in selling them. This was easily six months ago! I guess he's kinda attached to them. That's OK.

At first glance it looks to be a Knop type skimmer. I had a hang on and the collection cups look identical.

Well, THAT didn't help...
