Hi,

blacklights have UVA and a bit of UVB output. It is not good in high intensity since corals aren't used to this type of light in high intensities. UVA can do some damage to tissue over extended periods of time. UVA is commonly used in indoor suntanning salons. Some reefers use small blacklights for bioluminence.

Blacklights are considered a workplace hazzard and there are government set exposure limits.

cool thats it thanks victor, I have ben wondering if there is any usable light in a black light but I guess the UVa and UVb you would get with it arn't worth it.
