Table saw to cut big pieces
sliding compound to cut medium and small pieces
Router to trim down to the exact size and smooth out the edges.
for saw blades, I use 60-80 teeth triple chip grind blades.

TIP: if using thin-kerf blade, support the blade with blade stiffeners http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=30075&cat=1,41080,41165&ap=1

I haave a special blade for acrylic for my table say. makes a 60 tooth tripple chip blade look like a hand saw  but it is costly. I got it as the quality of the cut is good enough to go strait to glue up with out any other prep. I have jigs for cutting tube on the table saw also. other than that I use a file, a scraper and a router.
