I might be selling my system as I don't have much time for it anymore (kids), and would like to see what kind of Lower Mainland (or BC) buyers are out there for a couple big ticket items that I have.

Lighting
First is the Sfiligoi Infinity XR4 Pendant w/ACLS. 1x250W HQI + 4x24w T5. This is the ultimate luxurious lighting as it is the only dimmable HQI on the market right now. I love this light as you can choose how long the sunrise/sunset is. So if you decide to have it come on at 8AM, it will start at 0% and gradually go up to 100% in whatever duration you choose. So Sunrise could essentially be 2 hours. Same goes for Sunset. I love sitting watching tv and seeing the light slowly dim into the sunset. Brand new this is $1400

What controls this dimming feature is the ACLS ballast. This thing cost $1100 brand new (just for the ballast and controllable features), but totally makes the light. You can set latitude/longitude to simulate being in different parts of the world. I set mine close to the equator to simulate Hawaii's conditions.

Total this lighting package cost me $2500 + tax last Sept 2006. I know I was nuts for paying this but if you are a fanatic like I was, you'll appreciate how cool this item really is. These two must be sold together (as the pendant is "ACLS ready"), so I am asking $1500.

Skimmer
Also for sale is the Deltec AP701 I purchased in Oct 2006. This is the "shorter" version of the AP851, so it fits under a cabinet quite nicely. This uses an Eheim 1260, you can't get a better skimmer for the rating (besides Bubble King :D)
http://deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/ap701.php

The retail price of this is $1200 + taxes, I am willing to let it go for $900

Buyer would have to pay for shipping if outside LM, and the Sfiligoi would require quite a bit of packaging if I were to do so. NO LOWBALL OFFERS PLEASE, you will be ignored.

Thank you for your interest.

Yes, the Deltec I bought off RC but it was brand new. The Sfiligoi lighting I bought brand new from AO.

Correction, Sfiligoi was bought in mid Nov, not Sept. So this is just a little over half year old.

Also, Deltec was bought in Dec.

How much of an area does the penant cover? What size of a tank do you have it on right now? Is that the only lighting on the tank?

Edit: What kind (brand) of bulbs are in the fixture now and how old are they?

dirtyreefer

The pendant would cover max a 4'x4' cubed tank. I have it on my 94g cube (it is the only light needed) right now but I have the pendant sitting really low so if it was raised to about 12" above the water level is would cover more area.

As for the bulb, right now I have an XM 10K bulb which was installed in Feb. I love this bulb as it's the highest PAR bulb, and the 4 actinics balance out the blueness of the tank. Looks awesome. Previously I had a BLV 14K bulb from Nov-Feb which I found too blue (but others may like it on the bluer side). I would include both bulbs for the buyer to determine what they liked best, but plenty of life left on both.

The T5 bulbs are AquaScience and they are as old as the unit itself (Nov 2006). Plenty of life left in them as you do not need to swap out actinics very often as they are mainly used for esthetic purposes.

Miki - Thanks for the reply and the bump. It really is a cool light, definitely the caddy of aquarium lights. I like it even better than the high end giesemann.

The Sfiligoi has cloud simulation like the Giesemann, as well as a "new bulb feature" which you can turn on which dims your new bulb to 75% of it's output. This is good for acclimation of your corals as you don't need to shorten the photoperiod or put eggcrate over your tank etc like you would with a normal light.

Also, depending on the longitude/latitude you set will change the moonlight phases as well. It is very accurate to simulate whatever location you input, very cool.

What dimension was the tank you had this over?

Would you call the light disbursement *square* or more rectangular?

Just wondering what size tank this could reasonably cover.

Thanks.

I would consider this light more "square" and would most likely be best over a cube. If you had dual lights, then I would put it over a long tank. Buying multiple lights is cool as you can create the dusk/dawk effect by configuring the ACLS to have one light dim and the other dim slightly behind it so that it replicates the sunrise/sunset.

I have it on my 30x30 cube right now but it is mounted considerably low as I don't want any light spilage. I would mount this on a 4' x 4' without any problems, but wouldn't go any bigger.

Don't think thats in anyones pocket range lol. I have been looking at AC LS ballasts and they them selfs are very expensive.(aren't they the ones that have the light fading option?)

Doesn't everyone on here have a few K's to spend? lol :)

Ya the ACLS has the HQI dimming option, very cool. I will try to get some pics up next week of the light dimming.

Last price drop to $1400 for the Pendant and ACLS ballast. I tried taking pics of the dimming last night, I need a tripod (and photography lessons) to be able to accurately display the what the dimming looks like.

Instead, I have a posted a pic of a guy's tank named "Naka" on RC (hope this is okay, he has probably one of the most beautiful tanks I have ever seen) which shows the dual halide dimming feature. One halide is dimming to 20% while the other halide remains at 80% (to simulate sunset). Please note my setup is single halide, but it does come with moonlights which kick on just before the bulb dims to 0%.

Thanks for the comments. I think you would have dark spots on each side of your tank lengthwise. For width and depth it would be more than enough.
