I am looking for an FM/car tuner that we can plug the ipod nano into. But a decent one that works good. We had tried a berkin brand one from one of those big name electronic stores here but it was really fuzzy reception and cut out a fair bit. Anyone know or have one they use or could suggest?

I tried one before, I can't remember the brand but I remember it sucked. We took it back. I haven't tried one of those units that plugs into the cassette player but they would probably work ok. The quality would be downgraded but at least it wouldn't cut out.

PS I notice you are in Edmonton and the last three letters in your name are YXD, do you work in aviation?

Yeah, I'm a licenced mechanic but now I work in planning and production.

I've used the Monster brand FM tuner for the nano and it works pretty good.

You're paying for the name though so don't be surprised by the price.

I have one of these.

My only complaint about it was that it didn't come with the dock insert for a second gen Nano, but the apple one the nano came with just clicks right in. Apparently they've fixed this since. Reception is as good as FM can get.

Honestly, if I was doing it again, I'd get a new stereo with an ipod input.

I have one made by Griffin. It works well, doesn't cut out but it does use a lot of juice from the battery. It has a mini USB port on it so that you can recharge the iPod with but I haven't found a car plug that has a mini USB on it. The charge on the iPod usually lasts about two hours using it.
