I thought id start a thread to show the progress of a friend of mines tank.

He`s done an excellent job of stocking, maintanence and husbandry here and it shows.

The tanks an all glass 120, with a custom back overflow and sump.
The main system pump is a Dart that also feeds an integrated refugium and H&S skimmer.

Additional current is provided by a Vortech, and a Tunze wave-box.

Lighting is dual H/O t-5 54w , and 2- 250w D/E`s in lumenmax reflectors, mounted on adjustable hangers.

The front of the Cabinet has a opening cut out of the right hand door to get a full view of the integrated refugium.

Ozone is dosed, but he`ll have to fill you in on it.

Heres some pics he gave me of it...ill see if he can update us with some more.

Tank has been up and running about 8 months.
Clean glass every second day [ brush and scrapper ]
Don't care for coraline on the glass, how long this will last I don't know??

I don't really care for the coraline on the glass either, do you want to come over and clean my glass? I tried to keep the back as well as the front clean on my tank and it lasted all of 2 weeks
Very nice tank by the way

you said that you were keeping a regal angel on hold at HR until it eats. Do you quarintine your fish after that or do you just place it in the display tank? I'm not trying to start a problem nor critisism just trying to learn as I'm setting up a 120 gal tank with a 80 gal sump. the learning curve is steep but I'm still hanging on.

Cheers!

Quick question the Regal is it reef safe in your tank, they say they are safe but with angles you never know this is a beautiful fish and I would love to add this fish to my wish list for my 120 that is in progress. Also thanks for this tread it has given me a lot of insight into how I want mine to be.

Custom made cabinet..canopy..small side cabinet[ houses reactor and red sea aquazone 100 ]built be Ed can't remember last name...does work for hidden reef
The man responsible for all the setup be Marc [ SuperFudge ] a craftsmen bar none...
His work neat and clean along with his knowledge in this hobby

Catherine:There're together all the time, maybe because they have been in the same tank at Hidden Reef for awhile.

Sarah: So far they've left everything alone...They rest in crevasse together.

"so far all is well...touch wood"

[quote=Redrover;269617Color on prints deeper...Anyone have an idea why when they're transfered to the computer the colors are not true.:onfire:[/quote]

Yes a photoshop program can help bring out the true colours you see but be careful not to add too much saturation. You usually should only have to darken the picture a bit if the colours appear washed out from too much light exposure. You might also want to increase the resolution on your monitor. Even the picture that Jason adjusted looked washed out on my laptop but looks great on my home computer.
The tank is coming along very nicely. Good job!

Check the white balance on your camera, also make sure you have no wierd color settings, like warm or sunny or some fool thing. If you can take pictures in RAW mode do that. Then any even googles picassa(?) (free) has an automatic "fix" mode balances colors/light etc... If you have an SLR than chances are you can do RAW. I luck out my DSLR has no "auto" modes so it shoots what I want it to.

Well, A sad Year for more than a few of us reefers...some of us lost our tanks and thought that was heart breaking.
But My good ol freind Ronnie (Redrover) lost his life in a battle with cancer a little while back.

Was good to have shared the same passion for the hobby, a few bad jokes, some good laughs, a few wobbly pops and some saltwater armpit rash...
My prayers to his loved ones, he will be missed.

Very sad news. :(

I just re-read this thread from page one. Ron's tank was amazing, he must have really loved this hobby.

Fare thee well, good sir.

This is truely a sad day. I had met Ron a few times back at Hidden Reef when Marc was building his system. He was so in to his fish tank and loved everything about it. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
