what a chore getting top down shots, but worth it in the end. you never really know the color of your pieces until you see them from the top.

no i didnt build anything for camera. just shut off all the tunzes and the return pump and shot straight down. kind of tricky to keep the halide reflection out of the picture

Nice looking corals - I know all about the joys of shooting top down pics!
What camera are you using, and what are you doing to address the white balance issues?

i'm using a kodak c330 basic camera. still learning its feature after a year and a half. i love the aquaconnect bulbs but my camera does not. once i have a piece in focus it looks fine but then once i take the picture it has a blue hue. i try increasing the exposure and it helps a bit so that is why some pics are more 'blue'.
wow. some stunning colours on some of those SPS pieces. :) Very nice.

the white balance is only auto, tungsten, fluorescent, and daylight. no manual setting though
