Hi all,

I currently have the Coralife Aqualight MH 150w 36" over my 50g tank. The tank is only 18" high so I think light penetration is good for what I'm keeping (softies and LPS). But because this fixture only has one MH bulb in the center, the sides are lacking good light.

I'm considering a new lighting setup but I do like the Coralife configuration - all-in-one MH, Actinic and Moonlight LEDS with separate switches and power cords, AND it looks good and comes with stand legs.
I'd love to keep this configuration but have two 150w MH bulbs.
Are there pre-configured canopies out there like what I just described?

Will two 150W MH bulbs be too much light/too hot for my shallow 50g tank?

Suggestions appreciated!

Help me Obi-Wan-Kenobe, you're my only hope...

Oh, found one: http://oceanaquatics.com/store/product/2267/Outer-Orbit-150W-HQI-T5-36%22/

Wow, it comes with everything: 2x150W MH, 4xT5 Actinics, 9 LEDS, electronic ballasts, legs, hanging kit, timers...all at a competitive price.

Coralife who?

Anyone have experience with Current USA Outer Orbit lighting?

You've got a lot of options:

CurrentUSA is on par with Coralife. Their PC fixtures are very common with FW planted people.

A little higher up the food chain is the Maristar from Sunlight Supply (this price excludes ballasts/bulbs):

Aquamedic also makes several nice lines of combo fixtures.

On the high end is Geissemann (which is available at J&L) and Sfiligoi which is Italian (and priced like it):

If you like a more industrial look there's always the old standby hoods by PFO and Hamilton.

Lastly, if your handy you can always cobble together your own creation with all the retrofit parts/kits that exist today.

Thanks for pointing out more options, fkshiu. I'll look into them to see if they fit the bill.

I forgot, there's also Aquactinics. They're supposed to have a Canadian distributor soon:
