Im having a problem with a nano.

Basically I have been able to load all the songs I want to itunes except for one file I really need.

Its an audiobook downloaded from limewire. It works fine on windows media player and itunes transformed the file icon to the itunes one. However when I try to put it into itunes I tunes doesnt respond. I dont recieve an error message just nothing happens. I drag it in and it never gets saved theres no hour glass nothing just as if I never performed the action. When I double click on the file to play it now that itunes has converted it to its own format again nothing happens. The only thing that does happen is Itunes turns on but nothing plays nothing gets loaded into the library nothing.

Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

I really need this file.

Thanks very much.

What file format is it, exactly? MP4/AAC? MP3?

when I right click on it and go properties it says MPEG Layer 3 Audio which I assume is MP3

Yeah. Do you still have it in its original format (in WMP?). If so, try importing it to iTunes again, but converting it to the AAC format. You may have to do this in your preferences settings at the top. Try it again and let me know what happens.

when I installed the itunes today it converted all files to the itunes format. I mean the file still plays in WMP but how would I convert it from itunes format?

Go to Edit --> Preferences:

Click on the Importing tab:

Try importing it again and import using the AAC Encoder. I don't know if I'm addressing what you're asking!

What version of iTunes do you have? Try burning the audio file to CD and then importing it directly to iTunes again, from the CD.

I couldn't stand iTunes, and I'm still convinced that if it was Microsoft that made it, everyone else would hate on it.

Anyways, when I dumped iTunes, I started using Anapod Explorer. It's not free, but there is a free trial.

I wil try to do the burning thing.

I find Itunes is pretty good for most stuff. I mean I have never run into a problem like this before.

I have version 7.1.1

I had the previous version as well, straight off the disk but I had the same problem. I thought updating might solve it but it didnt.

I must be the only person in the world who has had Itunes for a long time, on a Microsoft OS too, and I have yet to have a problem with it. Infact, I prefer it to WMP. Lol.
