Just wondering if anyone knows if a small pop bottle would be toxic in a reef tank if it were there for 1-4 days? I have a fish I need to catch so I was thinking of using the bottle trap method since all the other fish other than the one in question are too big to fit in the bottle I think this might work. However I am worried as to whether putting a bottle in the reef tank could poison something. Any ideas?

Doubtful, since they are designed to store liquids (many of them acidic) for a long period of time and then be consumed by humans.

Shouldn't do any harm, just make sure there is no glue or anything still on the container.

to be safe i would use a bottle that originally had water in it. not a soda bottle. I made a bottle trap to get a mantis using a dasani bottle and it worked within 4 hours or so.

sounds good.

Im not as lucky Im trying to catch a small damsel and have had the bottle in for about 4 hrs as well now with some food in it. But it seems the damsel isnt interested.
