Just wondering if Torch coral might be able to survive under power compacts. I have it under a 150 MH in my 55 right now but I have too much torch in there so I wanted to put it into a 10 gal nano. I would probably place it near the top of the tank. On the nano I am running 2 25 watt 50/50 power compacts.
Anyone think I might run into a problem? Thanks.

Oh heck - I think it would easily do fine in that, mine is about 20" below my 150 mh and I have little doubt it would do fine.
You will likely need to substitute what it would have gotten from the zooanthellae with stuff like Cyclopeze or Reef Roids, mine like it anyway :)
edit - just know that it's going to sweep *A LOT* in a 10g tank - you're not going to be able to put much with it that won't get stung nicely :(

Just a quick question? How do you feed it? I have one and I don't feed it anything???

I have a torch which seems to prefer pc lighting.

When i bought it i was advised to feed it cyclopeze. I thaw some in water and use a plastic pipet to gently squirt the mixture out into the tentacles.

Currently its near zoos and a hammer in my big tank however they are all really close to each other. It seems like everything is doing ok. Would it sting zoos and mushrooms in the 10? Thats all Im planning on keeping in there. Thanks.

It's a fairly aggressive coral. Did some damage to one of my ricordia....

my torch has taken out 5 heads of my hammer coral. the underside of a hydnophora, a 4"square piece of a yellow monti cap and my arm. It is now working on a patch of zoas and green button polyps

Wow! I thought that hammer and torch corals could co-exist peacefully! I guess not? Yikes.

My torch refuses to coexist with anything, it is very sticky and even the fish and shrimp go out of their way to avoid it

Huh, mine is the picture of friendlyness. I've never seen the sweepers on it, it is very close to a Candy Cane and a Favia. It's never touched them. Neither the Candy Cane or the Favia send out sweepers either.
To answer your question, mine does just fine under PC's

I did too - because they're of the same family - obviously not!
OTOH, it's left my ricordia alone, but continues to beat up my favia which is unfortunately in a precarious position right now :(
