Picked it up in a swap, should I snip the branches with the algae growing on them, there's not many, 3 or 4, or should I wait it out and see if it disappears in my tank.

Thanks

Wayne, is there tissue around the algae, or is the algae on the bottom of the branches, where it is bare?

I would just take a soft bristled toothbrush and gently rub off the algae. If conditions are good the coral should be able to reclaim those areas..

Reef_Raf:

The algae seems to be mostly at the tips with tissue below, there is one branch where the algae is in the middle, the branch is pink above the algae and white below the algae down to the base.

Wayne, follw Tony's advice and gently remove the algae. Make sure the coral gets good current to prevent regrowth. I think as long as your tank doesn't favour algal growth it will be fine!!
