Sorry I have no pic's for this (no camera right now). But thought I'd post my mod anyway.
I was having trouble getting any descent air intake into my coralife super skimmer. (the 250 gal) and tried a complete cleaning of the pump and venturi, ect. This helped a bit but not too much. I then noticed while tweaking in the tank that a noticeable flow of water enters the pump from behind the venturi collar and not fully through the water intake screen. This reduces the amount of air that is pulled into the skimmer as water enters the pump after the air intake. This I observed by watching suspended particles enter the pump in the wrong location.
What I did was to add a o ring between the pump body and the venturi collar. The results were not blockbuster, but definitely there is improved air intake.
I hope this was clear and understandable and it helps anyone with this skimmer to get better results.
