what experiences have you had with this malady? any successful treatments? i've heard fragging above the affected areas, super gluing the affected areas to isolate, and rubbing the affected areas with coral dip (iodine solution) can be effective. since it is stress related, i can't see the first two options having a high likelyhood of success.

I've only had one issue with this and it seemed to correct it's self with no action on my account. I've heard that the fragging works well and as a bonus, you have all those extra frags to grow out. Good luck.

IME the first two options are the best. Keep the heat and nitrates down and an increased random flow are a good prevention for RTN. Sometimes it just happens and there is no apparent reason but it is often due to the above mentioned. I unfortunately have a fair bit of experience with both RTN & STN. If you glue the dead area and a bit of the healthy tissue this often tends to stop the necrosis and the healthy tissue will usually encrust over the glue and back down the bare area. thanks for the info, snappy. sounds like a few of those guys recommended using super glue to 'seal' the tissue after fragging as well. would you agree?
